———-[ [ T H E M E: Truyền Thống Cũ Và Mới- "Two World's Collide"] ]———-
“Two Worlds Collide” describes the melding of the two cultures, our root Vietnamese culture and our acquired American culture, that make up the identity of being “Vietnamese-American.” We are raised in an environment that is heavily influenced both by our parents Vietnamese origins at home and the diverse American culture that we pick up from living in the States. This makes us a distinctly unique generation of Vietnamese people that have adapted to both the cultures that identify us, especially since we Vietnamese-Americans are the sons and daughters of Vietnamese people that fled to America to start a new life overseas. Because of this, we represent the future of both our Vietnamese and our American heritage and through our dreams and aspirations we will carry on this special “Vietnamese-American” heritage.

———-[ [ C H A R I T Y: DIEU GIAC TEMPLE ORPHANAGE; Saigon, Vietnam ] ]———-
VSA will continue its annual tradition of <<< donating a portion of the proceeds>>> from the DVN culture show ticket sales to benefit various charities. This year we will be donating proceeds to the Dieu Giac Temple Orphanage House of Love. Located in Saigon, Vietnam, this orphanage shelters and cares for over 120 abandoned or orphaned street children. The children range from infants to 18 year olds and are from different ethnic and religious backgrounds. Led by a group of Buddhist nuns and volunteers, the goal of the Dieu Giac Orphange is to provide a safe and caring environment for the children, while offering education and other opportunities to broaden the horizon and meaning of life for the children. As a private organization, the orphanage faces many challenges in providing food, shelter, health resources, and education due to limited human and financial resources, therefore, all support is greatly appreciated! For more information and to donate, please visit http://www.orphaned.org/
