The Union of Vietnamese Student Associations in the Midwest (UVSA-Midwest) is a non-profit organization aiming to connect Vietnamese youth organizations in the region. Since its founding in 2007 UVSA-Midwest has helped VSAs network with one another, share common resources, and collaborate on philanthropy projects. More generally, it is committed to empowering emerging community leaders within the Vietnamese community, as well as maintaining and promoting the Vietnamese culture.
To meet these goals, UVSA-Midwest provides online information repositories for VSAs to get the information they need to be successful. Additionally, we organize conferences and retreats covering topics such as leadership, cultural identity, social and community issues. We also participate in a collective philanthropy project that focuses the fundraising efforts of VSAs across the country toward an annually selected beneficiary.
The executive board of UVSA-Midwest is composed of college students and young professionals.
