The Vietnamese Interacting As One (VIA-1) Conference is an annual event bringing young Vietnamese leaders from all over the country together. During the conference, hundreds of students and young professionals hone their leadership skills, hold discussions with speakers, and explore issues in the Vietnamese-American youth community. By coming together, we can achieve solidarity, collaborate on issues concerning our communities and universities, and encourage the growth of Vietnamese leaders. The VIA-1 Conference is considered to be one of the premier youth conferences in the country and is the only Vietnamese American regional conference in the Midwest.
In collaboration with UVSA-Midwest, a proud Midwest school hosts the Annual VIA-1 Conference where hundreds of students will partake in a three day event filled with workshops and activities to develop their personal and professional skills. Throughout the conference, VSA’s actively work together to fundraise for the Collective Philanthropy Project, a philanthropic initiative done every year by VSA’s to raise money and help one non-profit organization and their goals to help the Vietnamese community in the U.S. and abroad. Furthermore, participants of the conference have the opportunity to network professionally and socially, making friendships and relationships that last a lifetime.
The VIA-1 Conference offers what many other conferences cannot offer; an opportunity to learn, develop personal and professional skills, and give back to the Vietnamese community. UVSA Midwest makes it a priority to ensure that all conference staff and participants feel a part of the UVSA-Midwest family.
